Jena returns by air and joins in the defense of the city against invading reptiles.

After crashing in the mountains, she meets a runaway slave worker from a nursing home and the two of them rescue an exotic dancer from a cave. A midwife travels with her to find an herbal cure in the forests but they end up in an underground city. Jena is given rank in the army and made ambassador to travel to nearby provinces to search out assassination plots, but her ship goes down and she is stranded on an island with a converted assassin and a captain of the temple guards. Saving a king from cremation, they travel to the island empire of Valante where they find plenty of intrigue between the ruling groups. She picks up Mon, a young girl that has escaped from the asylum who then travels with her evermore. The two escape their own assassination and make a tortured sea journey back to Atlantis.
Jena of Atlantis, The Fire Eye; 104k, 16 chapters, 300pg. Only minutes after returning in the previous book, Jena is asked to escort a group of priests to Mt Doom to perform a religious ceremony to lessen the earthquakes. Jena fights the religious order almost as much as the constant reptiles, and the pilgrimage is quickly destroyed. Jena and the Priestess travel onward to find another huge battle. The five companions escape this, and it is left to Jena to figure out how to work with earth elementals.

She and Mon must come up with creative solutions at every turn and they discover the five miracles that they must bring about. Jena learns of her lineage and past, and is finally safe.
